Weather Impact

Weather Impact is specialized in delivering tailored weather information to individual farmers and other stakeholders in the agri-food sector. To create reliable forecasts and analysis we combine output of state-of-the-art weather models, satellites and ground observations. Weather Impact is a private company, founded in 2014 by Arnold Lobbrecht and Gerrit Hiemstra. Weather Impact is a business partner of HydroLogic.

Since its establishment, Weather Impact has built up expertise in many African countries in G4AW projects. Within the Rain4Africa-project, Weather Impact is knowledge provider. The company has developed a ‘weather impact alert’ app on the HydroNET platform. Weather Impact currently leads the development of the R4A-Mobile app; a smartphone app that provides farmers with advice for their farm management based on weather forecasts and engages them via crowd sourcing of weather observations.
